Breakfast of champions in Johannesburg before flying to Nelspruit: yogurt and an awesome chocolate drink thing that also came with more chocolate.

17 hours of flying time later…Pittsburgh! No, wait…Johannesburg! After arriving at night, in a daze, and in the rain, it did remind Margot and me of our old stomping ground, but we’re ready to start our South African adventure.
After a Farmhouse Saison and Maiboch at Freshcraft, we stopped at the Wynkoop Brewing Company for fried chicken and the big winners: Cowtown Milk Stout and Chile Beer. Hellooooo, Denver!
The day after we returned from Germany, I headed to Minneapolis for Confab—a few days of cake and content strategy, karaoke and cocktails. In mid May, I went to Dallas, then met up with Mike in Denver.
While Margot was at the IA Konferenz, I road tripped out to Wolfsburg and visited the Volkswagen Autostadt museum and exhibition complex. The highlight was the two car storage towers, which operated like car vending machines. Awesome!

Best way to try Belgian beer? Cross into Belgium. New favorite, over dinner in the main square in Tongeren.

This statue, in Maastricht, is in memory of the man who invented the gaslight.
Someday, I want a monument. And I want it to be on fire.
